CATCHERS: "Pitchers and Catchers Report"

“Pitchers and Catchers Report” -- four special words to any baseball fan.  The beginning of a new season -- a season of hopes and dreams. Hobrecht’s unique painting “Pitchers and Catchers Report” presents a fantasy dugout that true Dodger fans can only dream of.  Here, Dave depicts two Dodger catching stars -- Roy Campanella and Mike Piazza -- together with pitchers and catchers who spanned a century of Dodger history, from Hall of Famer Burleigh Grimes to Clayton Kershaw.  Dodger icon and Hall of Famer Sandy Koufax studies the action on the field, while Kershaw and Don Newcombe discuss pitching strategy. Steve Yeager is getting ready to take the field, while World Series hero Johnny Podres looks on after returning to the dugout.
